Low fat is not always better! I applaud anyone for making healthier choices, but this is what I would choose (for eating clean, weightloss, and all round better health):
-Try dark rye bread, it’s much denser than brown bread and is very low GI
-Low fat vegetable spread ie margarine is not great for your heart. Try bananas mixed with natural peanut butter!
-Brown rice is okay but Quinoa is better for you and lower in carbs!
-Avoid most of the spice rack unless its an actual spice (no added salt) chilli, peppercorns, cinnamon and rosemary are all great multi use spices!
-Try coconut oil, it’s yummy and great for you!
-Skip pasta all together and buy a veggie twister to turn carrot & zucchini into spaghetti twirls!
-Full fat milk is fine in small quantities but for smoothies or cooking I use Almond milk
-Do not drink store bought bottled fruit juices! Freshly squeezed juice is good but I prefer mine just whole fruits in a blender so you get all the fiber and not just fructose :)
-Sweet potatoes are great, great alternative to potato or pumpkin, add it to salads or in place of mash!
-Greek yogurt is full of protein so its benefits outweigh any sugar free regular yogurts plus its so yum!
-DON’T select foods purely because they are low fat/light/lowcarb as sometimes they are full of sugars or preservatives to retain flavour! Always try to choose natural non processed foods as much as possible, your body will thank you for it xx
